forget me not, my dear, my darling

ok so i know i've been m.i.a. for a while, and i apologize. not that i think that any of you reading this are actually bothered by this, but i guess when i start something i like to keep up with it and my writing has sort of fallen by the wayside. moving kinda screws up your routines.

there's really too much to go back and tell, so i'm just gonna start with what's going on now.

so yeah, i moved back home. kyle and i are now back living separately with our parents. weirddddd. and slightly annoying. not that i don't love my family, i think that previous posts have determined my love for them, but once you're on your own and then back to living with the parents, it's weird. especially when you decide to move back when they are tearing up the whole house to build a new kitchen/put on a new roof/fix the pool. kill me. but nonetheless, it's good to be back in the mountains and back with my dear siblings, and pretty soon we'll have a ballin' house to kick it in. ;)

i'm working at the wayne county news and i like it. it's wayyy stressful at times, but it's good and good for now. kyle is working at the ymca and designing my best friend's wedding invitations, and when he's not doing that he is persistently looking for jobs elsewhere for hours at a time. sort of exhausting to watch. i've applied to a few places, but not nearly as many as him -- partly because i just can't sit there for that long and partly because i don't know what the hell i want to do. and seriously, let's be honest, what we really wanna be doing is watching glee.

in other news, i'm trying to get fit and tan for summer -- 15 lbs down and 3 shades up. ;) this summer is gonna be a good one and i'm pumped. i'm a bridesmaid in three weddings this summer so i'm gonna be busybusybusy. but how exciting that three of my best friends are getting married and that i'm in all three of the celebrations! can't wait. :)

that's about it i guess. i'll have more interesting posts soon. promise.

love.

oh, home. yes, i am home.

hello, west virginia.

it's been a while. your mountains look lovely, as usual, and pretty much the same -- except for the nice new green that's coming in as spring arrives. i missed seeing them a lot, so i'm glad you didn't do anything too drastic to them while i was gone. the streets here in huntington look the same. there are a couple of new places i've never seen before, and a couple new restaurants that have opened up. so far so good.

max and erma's changed it's menu, huntington prime doesn't serve lunch anymore and the starbucks bathroom code is 1278 this week. jim's has new waitresses (weird) and the same nice guy at chili willi's waited on us wednesday night -- and he recognized me even though i'd been gone for over 2 months. everyone seems to be breaking out the sandals and shorts for the warm weather you're having -- thank god, because i vowed if it was still snowing when i got back to you, i was going back to that steamy georgia -- you know how hot she is, so can you blame me?

i hope you don't think i forgot about you when i was away this time. i think about you all the time. can you believe we had to be apart for so long? think of all the times we've had together over the years --running around on your land, catching your lightning bugs, breathing your air, meeting the love of my life in your schools, driving on your roads with my friends, dreaming and working and thinking while i walked all over you. remember that time i swam in one of your lakes and i felt a weird fish on my leg and squealed? that was fun.

i'm glad most of my friends were here to welcome me back to your mountains, and i hope the ones that are spread out over your friends still think about you every once and a while. and i hope you don't take offense when i have to leave again. maybe you could work on getting more stuff for me to do here...? i know it's not your fault, it's just the time. i've gotta find my way in a place that offers more to a girl like me, a girl who needs big work for her big creative mind. understand? i'm not sure how much time we will get to spend together this go 'round, but i hope we can soak it up. every moment. every step. every breath.

it's so good to see you again, wv. i'll keep in touch.

love,

baby, whatdya say we just get lost

one of the many wonderful things about kyle is that he can be spontaneous. on saturday, we decided to drive to beaufort, which is about an hour away, just for fun. it's just a cute little town, and since it was a nice day, it was good to walk around and explore. here are some photos of our day. :)

fine dining in the car. :)

books! :)

ice cream! :)

yummmmm

jelly beans :)

i love easy-going saturdays. i love road trips. i love sunshine. i love exploring. i love kyle. basically, i loved going to beaufort. it was nice to get out of the house and go somewhere new. a change of scenery will do wonders, and being with someone you love makes it even better. :)

long live all the magic we made

our beach day :)

being in savannah, living on my own for the first time ever, has been wonderful. but one of the greatest things about it, has been the visitors. ironic? :)

over st. patrick's day weekend, my brother, sister and her boyfriend, mark, came to visit us. i was super excited to see my siblings and be able to run around town with them. we got to eat some good food, have some ice cream, shop a little, go to the beach and witness some crazies down on river street. fun!

taylor & mark :)

casey & kyle :)

casey trying on the ugliest pants ever lol :)

our day at the beach was probably my favorite.
it was really nice outside, and after having lunch and going to the paris market (when i got my mint plant!), we headed to the ocean. it took us for.ev.er. to get there because of so much spring break traffic, but when we finally made it there and met our friendssss, it was great. we had sunshine, cold drinks, and chit chat. perfection. :) once the sun started going down, it got colldddddd. the wind was frigid and none of us were prepared as far as clothing, but we stuck it out for the crazyawesome moon. it was lovely, indeed. :)

the relationship i have with my siblings is pretty extraordinary. we all look the same. talk to same. laugh the same. it is nearly impossible to distinguish my voice from my sister's on the phone, and somehow my little brother knows about the awesome songs i love months before i even discover them. but more than all of that, we are connected. my sister and i can literally finish each others' sentences. i can see through my brother's blue eyes into his mind and figure out what is causing the wrinkle in his forehead. and there is nothing i would rather do than sit up late and laugh and act a fool with them.

growing up, of course we fought -- we still do sometimes -- but we will stick by each other through everything. everything. as i've said before, leaving home was hard. but what made it so hard was my siblings. i blame our parents for making us so close, and therefore, making leaving home so freaking emotional. my mom always made us make up if we fought and threatened to make us hug, because that's what her mother did when she would fight with her brothers. so it's her and my dad's fault it was so hard to leave them. the image of the two of them sitting in my brother's room crying when i was about to drive away will be printed in my mind and heart forever. and somehow, even though i broke their hearts by leaving, they still support me. and encourage me. and love me. the love i have for kyle is vast and deep, but the love i have for them -- i can't even explain it. it's almost other-worldly.

being away from home has really made me appreciate the people in my life even more than i already did, and a simple three day visit can mean so much. i am so thankful for them and for my family and friends, and i'm excited to be heading back to wv in a couple weeks to be surrounded and embraced by the people i love.

we'll see what comes next.
